Objective
Geopolitics is the study of how things like a country's land, climate, and natural resources all affect its government and economy. Geopolitics involves three qualities. First, it is concerned with questions of influence and power over space and territory. Second, it uses geographical frames to make sense of world affairs. Third, geopolitics is future-oriented. It offers insights into the likely behaviour of states because their interests are fundamentally unchanging. Here we describe the
Course Outcome:
- knowledge of the various definitions of Geostrategy and Geopolitics and their implications for the field of International Relations.
- An understanding of the linkages among International Relations, Political Science, National Security policies, History, Political and Economic Geography, Geopolitics, and Geostrategy.
- An understanding of the elements and nature of power, power analysis, and power projection in world politics, to include not only the traditional nation-state as actor, but also contemporary non-state phenomena such as multinational corporations and the environment as Geostrategic factors.
- Awareness of the Geostrategic implications of contemporary International Relations issues i.e. outer space, and globalization.
The main purpose of this course is to familiarize the student with the fields of study that comprise geopolitics and geostrategy and the analytical processes involved in the assessment of various geostrategies. The objective of this course is to assist students in analysing various issues in international relations for its geographical content.

- Step 1 – Written Examination (MCQ)
- Step 2 – Viva voce conducted by the college
Certification
After assessment, the successful students will be provided with a certificate by Garhbeta College.
