A Value-Added course on “Santali Music”
Since 2024-2025, Garhbeta College is offering this specialized training program which is certified by the College itself.
Course Duration
36 Hours
Objective
This course will help the students to understand the basics of Santali music, its classification and characteristics. The course will teach our students how to perform santali folk dance with musical instruments and students will learn about the 'Tala system' of Santali music. At the end of the course students will be able to gain basic knowledge on Santali music.
Curriculum for this Add-on Course:
- Unit-1- Basic knowledge of Santali Music (6 hours)
- Unit-2- Santali Song (6 hours)
- 1st Tutorial (2 hours)
- Unit-3- Santali Dance (6 hours)
- Unit-4- Santali Music Tala system (6 hours)
- 2nd Tutorial (2 hours)
- Unit-5- Project on Santali Music (6 hours)
- Final Tutorial and Question & Answer period (2 hours)
Assessment / Examination
- Step 1 – MCQ
- Step2 – Practical Examination
Certification
After passing all the examinations listed above a student will be given a certificate from Garhbeta College provided on his/her record of class attendance is satisfactory.
