About the Department
Physiology is a very practical based and related to medical science subject which is included by deferent branches. The different branches of this subject is interrelated with others different subject like nutrition, medical laboratory technology and publich health and welfare science. Hence, Physiology is known as a Dynamic and Interdisciplinary subject. The main purpose of the subject is to ensure that students understand how the body works. The department always tries to provide all types of facilities to students for their academic progress and career development. The department always tries to make students interest in the modern field of applied Physiology, Pathophysiology, medical physiology and research related activities.
History of the Department
The journey of Physiology department in Garhbeta College started with honours and general courses in 2001. At present there are 26 honours students in total in the department. Theintake capacity in honours course of the department is 33 in first semester (CBCS). The department has one laborotary room for practical class. Our laboratory contains sufficient number of instruments, reagents, Computers and needful accessories. To take classes using ICT the department has its own LCD projector along with other required accessories. Recently all the faculty members of this department have been provided with dedicated account so that they can take online classes through virtual platform using G-suite. Currently we offer honours course, generic courses and general course. Department also encourages students to have taste of on field experience by facilitating beyond classroom study.
